Updated Sunday 21st November
Our buildings are now re-opening for regular users in line with the Victorian Government Roadmap through the COVID-19 pandemic.
In-person worship services are resuming from Sunday 21st October 2021.
9:30 Service (Weekly) – no number restrictions, vaccination status is checked. Please have your proof of vaccination ready for check in. Streaming online from Youtube when volunteers are available to produce the stream.
11:30 Service (Fortnightly commencing 28th November) – vaccination status not checked, limited numbers, held in Lane Memorial Room.
Church council will review these arrangements and adjust as necessary according to public health orders, availability of helpers for COVID safe cleaning and compliance, and feedback from our community.
Following is an excerpt from a pastoral letter from the Moderator of the Victorian Synod, Denise Liersch:
“In Victoria, new public health directions include responsibilities for ministry agents, authorised workers and Church Councils.
In planning for reopening of worship and use of congregational buildings, Church Council responsibilities include compliance with requirements relating to vaccination.
Authorised workers, both paid and volunteer, must also provide evidence of their vaccination status to their workplace. The number of people who may attend religious gatherings in any part of Victoria depends on whether everyone present is fully vaccinated, and churches are responsible for how this is implemented.
The story of the Good Samaritan and Jesus’ call to love God and neighbour, is one guide that runs deep to our faith. It’s a call to focus on the welfare of others, and to give special consideration to those most vulnerable to risk of harm — beyond our usual circles of interest or personal preferences.
On Wednesdays at 8am we gather on Zoom for prayer time together. If you would like to come, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for the link to join.

About St Luke’s
St. Luke’s aims to be a warm and welcoming “all age” faith community that is passionate about engaging with the people around us and the world we live in. We believe in kindness and faith in action!
Worship services happen weekly on Sunday mornings, and monthly gatherings include Messy church for all ages, House church for the more intellectually minded person, and a mid-week service especially for folk who find it difficult to get to weekly Sunday services.
Our community activities include helping newly arrived immigrants settle into the Geelong area; a well attended Mens’ Shed, open to all; and a monthly Repair Cafe organised by our Environment Action Group.
We are also building our knowledge of Mental Health and Wellbeing as we support people in our own community and our wider community of Highton and surrounds.
Through our Men’s Shed, Community garage sales and Refugee support, we’re able to ensure that furniture and goods otherwise destined for landfill are repaired in good order and distributed to people who arrive in Geelong with nothing but the clothes they wear.
We welcome volunteers and the spiritually curious – anyone in search of a place to belong – if you’d like to chat to someone, please contact us on 5244 2997.
Please take the time to explore our website and get to know us better.
