About St Luke’s

St. Luke’s aims to be a warm and welcoming “all age” faith community that is passionate about engaging with the people  around us and the world we live in.  We believe in kindness and faith in action!

Worship services happen weekly on Sunday mornings, and monthly gatherings include Messy church for all ages, House church for the more intellectually minded person, and a mid-week service especially for folk who find it difficult to get to weekly Sunday services.

Our community activities include helping newly arrived immigrants settle into the Geelong area; a well attended Mens’ Shed, open to all; and a monthly Repair Cafe organised by our Environment Action Group.

We are also building our knowledge of Mental Health and Wellbeing as we support people in our own community and our wider community of Highton and surrounds.

Through our Men’s Shed, Community garage sales and Refugee support, we’re able to ensure that furniture and goods otherwise destined for landfill are repaired in good order and distributed to people who arrive in Geelong with nothing but the clothes they wear.

We welcome volunteers and the spiritually curious – anyone in search of a place to belong – if you’d like to chat to someone, please contact us on 5244 2997.

Please take the time to explore our website and get to know us better.

Uniting in Prayer
May 28 – Jun 22 all-day

Between Pentecost (28 May) and the Uniting Church Anniversary (22 June) this year, we’re calling the whole Uniting Church to join in prayer.

As national discernment about the future of the Uniting Church continues through the Act2 Project, Uniting in Prayer is an opportunity for all who call the Uniting Church home to come together in thanksgiving and hope to pray and seek the leading of the Spirit.

During this time we will remember our past, recognise our present reality and with hopeful expectation listen attentively to God and each other.

We’ll be sharing prayers from across our Church every day for 26 days and joining every Uniting Church community through a national prayer chain.

Resources to help your community take part will be available here on 17 April 2023. These will include a worship resource to hold a prayer service in your context, weekly theological reflections and intergenerational resources to use at home.

Watch the invitation from Uniting Church President Rev Sharon Hollis below, and register yourself or your community for all the updates.

These weekly sessions are taking place on Tuesdays 9 – 9.30 am AWST (Perth) | 11 am – 12.30 pm AEST (Sydney/Bris/Melb/Hobart), 10.30 am Adelaide

We will follow the successful format created by Fr Peter Martin, facilitator of Queenscliff Lonsdale Anglicans Prayers for COP 26
• 3 – 5 minutes introduction into silence by a guest speaker
• 25 minute meditation
• 5 minutes listening, non-controversial sharing time for those that want to stay on
It is felt that this will be a helpful, powerful way to bring about a solid set of resolutions at COP27 in Egypt during November 2022.
Please join us on our weekly Zoom meeting whichever Tuesday you can. You may want to make it a weekly, fortnightly or monthly personal commitment.
