Collectibles Team
Every Wednesday 9am – 12noon and Sale Weekends (the third Friday and Saturday of the month)
The Collectibles team accepts, sorts and curates material aid donations received from many generous donors. These donations stock the Refugee Room and the Chapel Collectibles.
The Refugee Room provides material aid to newcomers and others in needwithin the community. Items include sheets, towels, bedding, pots, pans, crockery, glassware, cutlery and more.
The Chapel Collectibles is where we curate ‘finer’ items ready for our monthly Collectibles sales. These include vintage, retro and modern crystal, paintings, fine china, books, kitchenware, ornaments and more! Funds raised support St. Luke’s mission to refugees.
Environment Group
4th Monday of the month at 7.30 in the Fellowship Room at St Luke’s
The group is open to anyone interested in the environment including anyone from St. Luke’s and the larger community. The group is a forum to share ideas about the environment, discuss issues relating to the environment and take actions to support the environment.

Coffee & Chat
First Wednesday of the month 1.30pm
The Connections Ministry Team hosts ‘Coffee and Chat’ which is a casual get together welcoming ladies and gentlemen, family and friends. This small group gathering offers an opportunity to share fellowship and make new friends. Usually meeting spot: Brioche Cafe and Catering, Newtown.
St. Luke’s Men’s Shed
Every Tuesday & Thursday @ 9.30 am
To provide an opportunity for the men of the church and local community to gather together for fellowship, new learning, making use of existing skills and to reach out into the local community to meet the needs of other men.
Social Issues Group
1st Monday of alternate months
To explore community, national & international social issues. To raise awareness of some of these issues in our church and the community. To provide assistance to agencies which assist needy causes nationally, internationally and locally.
St. Luke’s Sewing Group
Every 2nd Friday during school term
The Sewing Group was formed with the intention of teaching new refugees how to use a sewing machine and to make clothes for their families and articles for their homes. Over time the group has grown until our students include refugees from throughout the Geelong area and our teachers come from several different organizations. Many usable sewing machines and hundreds of metres of fabric have been donated. Creche helpers and teachers are always welcome.
Walking Group
Weekly Friday mornings
This is a casual, broad community group started in the late 1980’s by some members of St. Luke’s for exercise and socialising. Participants vary from week to week and all are welcome to join.
It normally meets at 9am for a one-hour walk along the Barwon River followed by coffee. There are occasional day trips to Melbourne and other places for exhibitions and walking tours.
